Project Description
Undulate explores the intersection of bio-inspired material design and human-machine interaction by fostering dynamic, responsive feedback between humans and systems, imbuing machines with social behaviors. Drawing inspiration from jellyfish and squid morphology, the installation integrates sensors, silicone air bladders, and auxetic materials to emulate pulsating movements and stress responses. Embedded ultrasonic distance and pressure sensors enable the system to perceive human proximity and react with shape changes, mimicking natural behaviors.
